Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the shift lever assembly. Refer to Shift Lever Replacement - On Vehicle  or Shift Lever Replacement - On Vehicle  .
  2. Remove the knee bolster. Refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER .
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the automatic transmission shift lock control actuator.
  4. Remove the lock control actuator.

  5. Place the lock cylinder in the OFF-LOCK position.
  6. Disconnect the linear shift assembly cable from the ignition switch.
  7. Remove the screws from the linear shift assembly.
  8. Remove the linear shift assembly from the steering column.
