Removal Procedure

  1. Install the J 42640  in the steering column lower access hole.

  2. Remove the intermediate shaft from the steering gear. Refer to Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement .
  3. Remove the bolts retaining the lower steering column seal (1).
  4. Remove the lower steering column seal from the vehicle.

  5. Remove the upper steering column seal from the steering column.
