Front Disc Brake Hardware: Removal

  1. Raise the vehicle. Remove the tire and wheel assembly.
  2. Remove the brake caliper assembly. See FRONT BRAKE CALIPER BRACKET  .
  3. Inspect the brake caliper assembly. See BRAKE CALIPER ADJUSTMENT  under ADJUSTMENTS & INSPECTIONS.
  4. Remove the brake pad retaining clip from the brake caliper.
  5. Remove the brake pads from the brake mounting bracket.
  6. Remove the brake caliper mounting bracket retaining bolts, lower bolt shown. See Figure .
  7. Remove the brake caliper mounting bracket.
  8. Remove the brake pad retaining clips from the mounting bracket.
  9. Remove the guide pin bushing from the brake caliper mounting bracket.
  10. Clean the brake caliper mounting bracket with denatured alcohol.
  11. Dry the brake caliper mounting bracket using non-lubricated, filtered air.
