Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the air cleaner intake duct.
  3. Remove the right engine mount strut bracket. Refer to ENGINE MOUNT STRUT BRACKET REPLACEMENT - RIGHT
  4. Remove the exhaust crossover pipe heat shield. Refer to Exhaust Crossover Pipe Replacement (3.1L)  or Exhaust Crossover Pipe Replacement (3.8L) 
  5. Remove the exhaust crossover pipe nuts to the left exhaust manifold. Refer to Exhaust Crossover Pipe Replacement (3.1L)  or Exhaust Crossover Pipe Replacement (3.8L) 
  6. Remove the left exhaust manifold heat shield bolts.
  7. Remove the exhaust manifold heat shield.

  8. Remove the exhaust manifold nuts.
  9. Remove the exhaust manifold.

  10. Remove the exhaust manifold gasket.
  11. Clean and inspect the exhaust manifold. Refer to EXHAUST MANIFOLD CLEANING AND INSPECTION .
