Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Buick Regal and 2002 Buick Century. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the exhaust manifold gasket.
  2. Install the exhaust manifold.
  3. Install the exhaust manifold nuts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nuts to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).

  4. Install the exhaust manifold heat shield.
  5. Install the exhaust manifold heat shield bolts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  6. Install the exhaust crossover pipe nuts. Refer to Exhaust Crossover Pipe Replacement (3.1L)  or Exhaust Crossover Pipe Replacement (3.8L) 
  7. Install the exhaust crossover pipe heat shield. Refer to Exhaust Crossover Pipe Replacement (3.1L)  or Exhaust Crossover Pipe Replacement (3.8L) 
  8. Install the right engine mount strut bracket. Refer to ENGINE MOUNT STRUT BRACKET REPLACEMENT - RIGHT
  9. Install the air cleaner intake duct.
  10. Connect the negative battery cable.
