Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Buick Regal and 2002 Buick Century. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the gasket and the water pump.
  2. Install the water pump bolts.
  3. Install the water pump pulley.
  4. Install the water pump pulley bolts.

    Tighten: 

    Tighten the bolts to 13 N.m (115 in lbs) 

  5. Install the power steering pump. Refer to POWER STEERING PUMP REPLACEMENT (3.8L) or POWER STEERING PUMP REPLACEMENT (3.1L)
  6. Install the drive belt. Refer to DRIVE BELT REPLACEMENT (L36) or DRIVE BELT REPLACEMENT (L67)
  7. Install the accessory wiring junction block.
  8. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System 
  9. Inspect for leaks.
