Brake Caliper: Reassembly

  1. Use clean brake fluid in order to lubricate the following parts:
    • The new piston seal.
    • The caliper bore.
    • The piston.
  2. Install the piston seal using care not to twist the seal. Install the boot on the piston.
  3. Install the piston and the boot into the caliper bore. Push the piston to the bottom of the bore.
  4. Seat the boot housing using a 75 mm Boot Seal Installer, 80 mm Boot Seal Installer or 86 mm Boot Seal Installer. See Fig 1 .
  5. Install the front brake caliper bleeder valve. Tighten the valve to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
