Test A: Abs Indicator Always On

  1. Perform diagnostic system check. See DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING. After performing diagnostic system check, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off for 5 seconds. Turn ignition on while observing the ABS indicator light. If ABS indicator illuminates for 2 seconds then turns off, problem is intermittent. If ABS indicator does not illuminate for 2 seconds or does not turn off, go to next step.
  3. Turn ignition off. Disconnect EBCM 10-pin harness connector. Turn ignition on. If ABS indicator illuminates, go to next step. If ABS indicator does not illuminate, go to step  7 .
  4. Turn ignition off. Disconnect instrument panel cluster harness connector. Connect a test light between ignition 1 voltage circuit and ABS indicator failure control circuit. Turn ignition on. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step  6 .
  5. Repair short to ground in ABS indicator failure control circuit. After repairs, go to step  8 .
  6. Replace instrument panel cluster. After replacing cluster, go to step  8 .
  7. Replace EBCM and perform tire size calibration procedure using scan tool. After replacing EBCM, go to next step.
  8. Turn ignition off for 5 seconds. Turn ignition on while observing ABS indicator light. If ABS indicator light illuminate for 2 seconds then turns off, system is okay. If ABS indicator light does not illuminate, go to step  3 .
