DTC C0271, DTC C0272, DTC C0273 Or DTC C0284: EBCM Malfunction

  1. Perform diagnostic system check. See DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING. After performing diagnostic system check, go to next step.
  2. If DTC C0271 or C0272 is set, go to step  4 . If DTC C0271 or C0272 is not set, go to next step.
  3. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Turn ignition off for 5 seconds. Turn ignition on. Recheck DTCs. If DTC resets, go to next step. If DTC does not reset, replace EBCM if DTC C0273 or C0284 continues to set intermittently.
  4. Replace BPMV. After replacing BPMV, go to next step.
  5. Turn ignition on. Recheck DTCs. If DTC resets, go to step  3 . If DTC does not reset, system is okay.
