DTC C0238: Wheel Speed Mismatch

  1. Perform diagnostic system check. See DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING. After performing diagnostic system check, go to next step.
  2. Check vehicle's front tires for equal size. If tire sizes are the same, go to next step. If tire sizes are not the same, replace tires.
  3. Check vehicle's rear tires for equal size. If tire sizes are the same, go to next step. If tire sizes are not the same, replace tires.
  4. Using scan tool, verify that EBCM and PCM/VCM both have the correct tire size calibration. Using scan tool, perform calibration procedure. After calibrating tire size, go to next step. If calibration was not necessary, check for very low tire pressure, incorrect or damaged wheel speed sensor.
  5. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Road test vehicle for about 2 miles at speeds greater than 15 MPH but less than 50 MPH. Recheck DTCs. If DTC resets, go to step  2 . If DTC does not reset, system is okay.
