Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Buick Regal. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Install the new valve rocker arm cover gasket. Make sure that the valve rocker arm cover gasket is seated properly in the valve rocker arm cover groove.
Install the right valve rocker arm cover.
Apply thread lock compound GM P/N 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953489) or equivalent to the valve rocker arm cover bolt threads.
Install the right valve rocker arm cover bolts.
Tighten:

Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in)

Install the fuel injector sight shield bracket to the exhaust manifold studs.
Install the fuel injector sight shield bracket nuts.
Tighten:

Tighten the nuts to 30 N.m (22 lb ft)

Install the right engine lift bracket.
Install the right engine lift bracket nut and the bolt.
Tighten:

Tighten the nut and the bolt to 30 N.m (22 lb ft)

Install the EVAP purge solenoid brace and the EVAP purge solenoid. Refer to EVAP CANISTER PURGE SOLENOID
Install the right spark plug wires to the spark plugs. Refer to SPARK PLUGS
Carefully release the J 41131. Return the engine to the proper position.
Install the right and left engine mount struts. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement - Right or Engine Mount Strut Replacement - Left
Install the drive belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement (L36) or Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement (L67)
Install the air cleaner intake duct.
Install the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (L36) or Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (L67)
Connect the negative battery cable.
Check and fill crankcase as necessary.
Inspect for oil leaks.
