Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Buick Regal. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Dip the valve lifters in prelube GM P/N 12345501 or equivalent.
  2. Install the valve lifters to the same position that the valve lifters were removed from.
  3. Install the valve lifter guide(s).
  4. Install the valve lifter guide bolts.

    Tighten: 

    Tighten the valve lifter guide bolts to 30 N.m (22 lb ft)

  5. Install the push rod guide plate(s), the push rod(s), the valve rocker arm(s) and the valve rocker arm bolt(s). Refer to Valve Rocker Arm and Push Rod Replacement

  6. Install the right or the left valve rocker cover. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm Cover Replacement - Left  or Valve Rocker Arm Cover Replacement - Right 
  7. Install the lower intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement - Lower (L36)  or Intake Manifold Replacement - Lower (L67)
