Low Coolant Level Indicator
The low coolant level Indicator is available only on Diesel engines. The low coolant level Indicator system consist of a lamp, module and a level switch. The level switch is a normally closed switch that keeps the indicator off. If the coolant level is low, the level switch will open and turn on the low coolant indicator. Battery voltage is provided to the engine coolant level indicator module through the ignition 1 voltage circuit when the ignition switch is in the RUN or START position. The module has a separate ground than the level switch. The module is used to prevent the indicator from turning on when coolant is sloshing in the reservoir. When the switch is opened, the module senses the open. The module turns on the indicator if the ground is unavailable after 15 seconds.
