Installation Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 GMC Sierra, 2003 GMC Cab & Chassis Sierra, 2003 Chevrolet Silverado, and 2003 Chevrolet Cab & Chassis Silverado. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Install the stabilizer shaft link to the frame (1) and to the stabilizer shaft and install the retaining nuts (5). See Figure.
Tighten
- Tighten the stabilizer shaft link bolt to the frame (1) to 95 N.m (70 ft lbs).
- Tighten the stabilizer shaft link to the stabilizer shaft to 50 N.m (37 ft lbs).
- Lower the vehicle.
CAUTION:
Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
