Linear Shift Assembly - Disassemble - Off Vehicle

- Remove the upper and lower trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers - Disassemble - Off Vehicle (Column Shift) or Steering Column Trim Covers - Disassemble - Off Vehicle (Floor Shift) .
- Disconnect the park lock cable assembly (1).
- The steering column lock cylinder set should be in the OFF-LOCK position.
- Insert a small screwdriver into the slot on the electronic lock module assembly and push against the locking tab to remove.
- Disconnect the automatic transmission shift lock control connector from the park position switch assembly.
- Slide the park position switch assembly off of the linear shift assembly.
- Remove the automatic transmission shift lock control from the steering column.
- Use a small screwdriver to pry the automatic transmission shift lock control from the steering column jacket assembly.
- To break the linear shift assembly down proceed to step 12.
- Remove the 3 TORX® screws from the linear shift assembly.
- Remove the linear shift assembly from the steering column support assembly.
- Remove the 2 hexagon flange head bolts (2).
- Remove the ball and actuator assembly (1).
- Remove the cable shift cam assembly (3).
- Remove the shift actuator shaft.
- Remove the 2 actuator bushings.
- Remove the 3 oval head screws (2) from the shift lever gate (3).
- Remove the shift lever gate (3) from the gear shift lever assembly support bracket (1).
