Circuit Description

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 GMC Yukon XL, 2002 GMC Sierra, 2002 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2002 Chevrolet Silverado. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The PCM calculates the gear ratio based on the transmission Input Speed Sensor (ISS) and Output Speed Sensor (OSS) readings. The PCM compares the known transmission gear ratio to the calculated ratio for the selected gear ranges. See GEAR RATIO SPECIFICATIONS  table.

If the PCM detects an unknown transmission gear ratio, then DTC P0730 sets. DTC P0730 is a type "C" DTC.
