Piston, Connecting Rod, And Bearings (Unit Repair) Removal: Removal

- Rotate crankshaft to a position where the connecting rod bolts are most accessible.
- Mark connecting rod and cap with the cylinder position. Also mark their orientation. This will ensure that caps and connecting rods are re-assembled properly.
- Remove any ridge at the top of cylinder bore to avoid damage to the piston ring lands.
- Remove connecting rod bolts.
- Remove connecting rod cap.
- Install Connecting Rod Guide J41742-SAT2 in the connecting rod bolt holes before removing piston and connecting rod assembly.
- Remove piston and connecting rod assembly.
- Complete steps 2 through 7 for remaining pistons and connecting rods.
