Tools Required

IMPORTANT:  Ensure that the valve train components are kept together and identified in order for proper re-installation in their original position.

  1. Compress valve spring using Valve Spring Compressor/Remover SA9124E.
  2. Remove valve keys.
  3. Slowly release valve spring compressor from valve spring assembly.
  4. Remove retainer.
  5. Remove springs.

    NOTE: Do not damage the valve guide. Remove any burrs that have formed at the key groove by chamfering the valve stem with an oil stone or a file.
  6. Remove valve seal using Valve Seal Remover/Installer SA9102E-A. Discard valve seal.
  7. Remove valve.
  8. Repeat for remaining valves.
