Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the accessory drive belt. Refer to SPECIFICATIONS & DRIVE BELT ROUTING .
  2. Raise and support the vehicle.
  3. Remove the tire and wheel assembly.
  4. Remove the power steering pressure hose from the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pressure Hose Replacement (3.1L)  or Power Steering Pressure Hose Replacement (3.8L)  .
  5. Remove the power steering return hose from the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Return Hose Replacement (3.1L)  or Power Steering Return Hose Replacement (3.8L)  .

  6. Remove the electrical connector (4) from the power steering pump (1).

  7. Remove the power steering mounting bolts from the power steering pump.
  8. Remove the power steering pump.
  9. Remove the power steering pump reservoir from the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Reservoir Replacement - Off Vehicle (CB Series) .

  10. Remove the power steering pump pulley from the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pulley Replacement (3.8L)  or Power Steering Pulley Replacement (3.1L)  .
