Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Aztek and 2003 Buick Rendezvous. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
    NOTE: Install the new bushing to the crossmember in the same manner as/was the old bushing noting the voids.
  1. Use the J 21474-01 in order to install the bushing to the crossmember.
  2. Install the lower control arm and mounting bolts (1 & 5 ) to the crossmember. Refer to REAR AXLE LOWER CONTROL ARM REPLACEMENT (ALL WHEEL DRIVE) .
  3. Line up the mark on the lower control arm at the cam indicator (1). See Figure.
  4. Install the coil spring 2. See Figure.
  5. Install the tire and wheel assemblies.
  6. Inspect the rear camber and toe angles and adjust as necessary. Refer to Rear Camber Adjustment and Rear Toe Adjustment in Wheel Alignment .
  7. Lower the vehicle.
