Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Aztek and 2003 Buick Rendezvous. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the coil spring.
  2. Install the spring jounce bumper to the spring.
  3. Index and install the spring insulator to the spring (2).
  4. Index and install the spring assembly to the control arms (1).
  5. Use the utility stand in order to raise the lower control arm.
  6. Install the lower ball joint to the knuckle.
  7. Install the lower ball joint nut. Tighten the lower ball joint nut to 60 N.m (44 lb ft).
  8. Install the stabilizer shaft link to the lower control arm. Refer to STABILIZER SHAFT LINK REPLACEMENT (ALL WHEEL DRIVE) .
  9. Install the speed sensor connector mounting bracket.
  10. Connect the speed sensor harness to the control arm.
  11. Connect the speed sensor harnesses.
  12. Connect the shock absorber to the lower control arm. Refer to SHOCK ABSORBER REPLACEMENT (ALL WHEEL DRIVE) .
  13. Connect the height sensor link to the lower control arm as necessary.
  14. Install the brake caliper.
  15. Install the rear wheel.
  16. Inspect and adjust the rear camber and toe angles as necessary. Refer to Rear Camber Adjustment in Wheel Alignment .
  17. Lower the vehicle.
