Shock Absorber Replacement - AWD: Removal

  1. Remove the rear compartment trim panel. Refer to Figure.
  2. Remove the rear accessory panel. Refer to Figure.
  3. Remove the rear storage compartment. Refer to Figure.
  4. Remove the tool storage compartment. Refer to Figure.
  5. Remove the shock absorber fastener access panel (1). Refer to Figure.
  6. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to JACKING AND LIFTING .
  7. Use a block of wood and a jack in order to support the lower control arm.
  8. Remove the nut and the stabilizer shaft link stud from the lower control arm.
  9. Remove the nut (4) and the bolt (5). Refer to Figure.
  10. Remove the 3 nuts (2,3,6). Refer to Figure.
  11. Remove the 3 bolts (1,3,4). Refer to Figure.
  12. Remove the 3 bolts (1,3,4). Refer to Figure.
  13. Remove the shock absorber with the coil spring.
  14. Remove the coil spring, if necessary. Refer to COIL SPRING REPLACEMENT - FWD  or COIL SPRING REPLACEMENT - AWD  .
