Lower Control Arm Replacement - AWD: Removal

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to JACKING AND LIFTING .
  2. Remove the rear tire and wheel assembly.
  3. Remove the 2 bolts in order to separate the park brake cable from the lower control arm.
  4. Remove the nut and the stabilizer shaft link stud from the lower control arm. See Figure.
  5. Support the lower control arm (15) with a jack. See Figure.
  6. Use paint in order to place match marks on the 2 cams (5,6) and on the lower control arm. See Figure and Figure .
  7. Remove the nut (8) and the bolt (7). See Figure.
  8. Remove the nut (4) and the cam (5). See Figure.
  9. Remove the cam bolt (6). See Figure.
  10. Remove the nut and the bolt in order to separate the shock absorber from the lower control arm.
  11. Remove the nut (1) and the bolt (3). See Figure.
  12. Remove the 3 bolts (10,11,12) and the lower control arm from the vehicle. See Figure.
