Coil Spring Replacement - AWD: Removal

  1. Remove the spring and shock absorber assembly. Refer to SHOCK ABSORBER REPLACEMENT - AWD .
  2. Use the J 45400 or equivalent, in order to compress the spring. See Figure.
  3. Use a wrench in order to hold the piston rod. Remove the upper nut.
  4. Remove the shock absorber upper insulator retainer (9).

  5. Remove the shock absorber upper insulator (8).
  6. Remove the shock absorber upper mount (7).
  7. Remove the shock absorber lower insulator (6).
  8. Remove the spring upper insulator (2).
  9. Remove the spring compressor.
  10. Remove the spring (3).
  11. Remove the jounce bumper (5).
  12. Remove the shock absorber (4).
