Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 GMC Sonoma, 2003 GMC Jimmy, 2003 Chevrolet S10 Pickup, and 2003 Chevrolet Blazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the stabilizer shaft. See Figure.
  2. Install the stabilizer shaft link lower mounting bolt.
  3. Install the stabilizer shaft link upper mounting bolt. See Figure.
    4. NOTE: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
  4. Install the stabilizer shaft link mounting nuts. Tighten the stabilizer shaft link lower mounting nut to 57 N.m (42 lb ft). Tighten the stabilizer shaft link upper mounting nut to 35 N.m (25 lb ft).
  5. Lower the vehicle.
