Removal (4.2L)

  1. Disconnect the negative battery negative cable. Remove the vacuum brake booster hose.
  2. Remove the battery positive lead from the solenoid. See Fig 1. Remove the starter solenoid S-terminal lead nut from the solenoid. See Fig 2. Remove the starter solenoid S-terminal lead from the solenoid.
  3. Remove the starter mount bolt and nut. Remove the starter motor. See Fig 3.
