Installation (Pickup w/8.1L Engine)

  1. Install the starter heat shield, nut and bolts, if necessary. Tighten the nuts and bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  2. Install the starter motor.
  3. Install and tighten the starter motor bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  4. Install the engine harness ground to the starter solenoid.
  5. Install and tighten the starter solenoid nut to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  6. Install the positive cable to the starter solenoid.
  7. Install and tighten the starter lead nut to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  8. Lower the vehicle.
  9. Connect the negative battery cable. Tighten negative battery cable bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
