Intermediate Shaft Removal Note

  1. Disconnect the right side axle shaft from the intermediate shaft by tapping the transaxle side outer ring with a brass bar and hammer. See Figure .
  2. Disconnect the intermediate shaft bracket from cylinder block and remove the intermediate shaft.
    CAUTION: The sharp edges of the intermediate shaft can slice or puncture the oil seal. Be careful when removing the intermediate shaft from the transaxle.
  3. Install the Differential Side Gear Holder (49-G030-455) into the transaxle after the intermediate shaft is removed. See Figure .
