Boot Disassembly Note

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Mazda 3. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: The wheel side boot does not need to be removed unless it or the ball joint and shaft component are being replaced. Do not strip the tape until the boot is assembled.

Wrap the shaft splines with tape. See Fig 1 . Remove the boot.
