Removal (Left Rear)

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Disconnect the left rear park brake cable from the equalizer.
  2. Disconnect the cable from the bracket using the Parking Brake Cable Release Tool (J-37043).
  3. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Remove the brake drums. See REAR BRAKE DRUM  . Remove the brake shoes. See REAR BRAKE SHOES  .
  4. Disconnect the cable from the park brake lever. Remove the cable from the backing plate using the brake cable release tool. See Figure .
