Removal (Front)

  1. Remove the left closeout/insulator panel. Remove the left carpet retainer. Remove the left carpet retainer. Remove the PCM and bracket. See POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE under COMPUTERIZED ENGINE CONTROLS in REMOVAL, OVERHAUL & INSTALLATION - ALERO, GRAND AM & MALIBU article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE.
  2. Remove the park brake lever to gain access to the brake cable attachment points. Remove the park brake cable from the park brake lever.
  3. Remove the carpet from the left side of the vehicle. Raise and support the vehicle.
  4. Remove the front cable at the connector clip. Remove the cable retainer from the underbody. Remove the cable from the vehicle.
