Adjusting Screw Removal

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Remove the rear wheel and tire. Remove the brake drum. See REAR BRAKE DRUM  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  2. Remove the adjuster spring. Disengage the adjuster spring hook end from the tab on the adjuster actuator. See Figure .
  3. Use the Brake Shoe Spanner and Spring Remover (J-38400) in order to spread the brake shoes apart. Remove the adjuster.
