Removal (Front Cable)

  1. Remove the left side instrument panel insulator.
  2. Use the door trim pad remover to remove the left front carpet retainer. Use the door trim pad remover to remove the left front pillar, lower trim panel. Remove the front and rear door weatherstrips from the pinchweld flange as required. Remove the lower trim panel from the center pillar using door trim pad remover. Remove the seat belt from the slot in the lower trim panel. Remove the lower trim panel from the vehicle.
  3. Fold back the carpeting in order to gain access to the park brake cable.
  4. Remove the park brake cable from the cable guides.
  5. Raise and support the vehicle.
  6. Remove the brake cable at the equalizer.
  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. Remove the cable button end from the park brake lever clevis. See Fig 1 .
  9. Remove the front cable from the vehicle.
