Diagnostic Procedure

NOTE: Using a battery charger to jump start the vehicle may set DTC B1328 as a history code.
  1. If diagnostic system check was not performed, perform ENGINE ELECTRICAL DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under ON-VEHICLE TESTING. If diagnostic system check was performed, go to next step.
  2. Install a scan tool. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS  . Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF. With scan tool, monitor the DTC Information for DTC B1328 in the affected module. If scan tool indicates that DTC B1328 is current, go to step  4 . If DTC B1328 is not current, go to next step.
  3. With scan tool, monitor the DTC Information for DTC B1328 in the affected module. If scan tool indicates that DTC B1328 is current, go to next step. If DTC B1328 is not current, using a battery charger to jump start the vehicle may have set DTC B1328 as a history code.
  4. Replace affected module. Perform setup procedure for affected module if necessary. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in BODY CONTROL MODULES article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT. After repairs are made, go to next step.
  5. Use the scan tool in order to clear the DTC's. Operate the vehicle within the conditions for running DTC. See CONDITIONS FOR RUNNING DTC  . If DTC is reset, go to step  2 and retest. If DTC is not reset, system is okay.
