STOPLAMP Switch: Removal

  1. Remove the left side instrument panel insulator in the following order:
    1. Use the Door Trim Pad Clip Remover (J 38778) to remove the left side instrument panel insulator retainers from the steering column opening filler panel.
    2. Disconnect the courtesy lamp from the instrument panel insulator by turning 1/4 turn counterclockwise.
    3. Remove the insulator from the stud at the accelerator pedal.
    4. Remove the left insulator.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the stoplamp switch.
  3. Remove the stoplamp switch (2) from the brake pedal bracket. See Figure .
