Powertrain Control Module: Removal

  1. Turn ignition off.
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  3. Disconnect the Idle Air Temperature (IAT) sensor electrical connector.
  4. Loosen the clamp securing the air intake duct to the air cleaner housing.
  5. Carefully remove the air intake duct from the throttle body and air cleaner housing (1). See Figure .
  6. Remove the two screws (2) from the two air cleaner housing sections.
  7. Remove the air cleaner housing cover assembly.
  8. Without disconnecting the PCM connectors (1), remove the PCM (3) and harness from the PCM housing (2). See Figure .
  9. Disconnect the PCM connectors (1).
