Removal (Left Rear - With 4-Wheel Steering)

CAUTION: When lifting the vehicle do not allow the jack to touch the rear steering gear. If the jack touches the rear steering gear you may damage the gear or the rack and pinion boots. If the boots are damaged replace the rack and pinion boot.
  1. Release the park brake.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle.
  3. Remove the park brake cable from the equalizer by pulling down on the intermediate cable and release the cable from the equalizer bar. See Figure.
  4. Remove the cable from the mounting bracket by depressing the locking tabs. See Figure.
  5. Remove the cable at the lower shock absorber mount by removing the bolt. See Fig 1.
  6. Remove the rear cable mounting bracket bolt. See Figure.
  7. Remove the cable from the lever. See Figure.
  8. Remove the cable from the rear brake cable mounting bracket by depressing the locking tabs on the brake cable. See Fig 2.
  9. Remove the cable from the guides and the body mounts. See Figure.
