Installation (Front)

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 12 other vehicles, including the 2003 GMC Yukon XL, 2003 GMC Yukon, 2003 GMC Sierra, 2003 GMC Cab & Chassis Sierra, and 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the brake caliper to the brake caliper mounting bracket. See Figure.
  2. Install the 2 brake caliper mounting bolts. Tighten the bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. Remove the rubber cap or plug from the exposed brake hose fitting end.
  4. Install 2 NEW copper brake hose gaskets. Assemble the 2 NEW copper brake hose gaskets and the brake hose to caliper bolt to the brake hose.
  5. Install the brake hose to caliper bolt to the brake caliper. See Figure. Tighten the brake hose to caliper bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  6. Bleed the hydraulic brake system. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM .
  7. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  8. Lower the vehicle.
  9. Fill the master cylinder reservoir to the proper level with clean brake fluid. See MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR FILLING  under BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM.
