Combination Valve: Installation

NOTE: Do not reuse the transfer tubes. Always install NEW transfer tubes with a NEW combination valve. Verify that the replacement combination valve has the same pin punched identification code as the code found on the old part.
  1. Install 2 NEW transfer tubes into the combination valve until fully seated. See Figure .
  2. Install combination valve to BPMV.
  3. Install 3 combination valve bolts. Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  4. Install the front and rear brake pipes to combination valve. Tighten brake pipe fittings to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  5. Connect the electrical connector to the combination valve.
    NOTE: Verify that the combination valve metering rod is depressed during bleeding.
  6. Bleed the brake system. See MANUAL BLEEDING  or PRESSURE BLEEDING  under BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM.
