Installation (Front)

NOTE: Install 2 NEW copper brake hose gaskets.
  1. Assemble the 2 NEW copper brake hose gaskets, and the brake hose bolt to the brake hose.
  2. Install the brake hose to caliper bolt and the 2 NEW washers to the brake caliper. See Figure . Tighten the bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
    3. NOTE: The hose must not be twisted. Make sure the hose is not in contact with any suspension component.
  3. With the weight of the vehicle on the suspension, install the brake hose into the bracket.
  4. Install the brake hose retaining clip to the hose mounting bracket.
  5. Remove the rubber cap or plug from the exposed brake pipe fitting end.
  6. Connect the brake pipe fitting nut to the brake hose:
    • Use a backup wrench on the hose fitting.
    • Do not bend the bracket or the pipe. Tighten the nut to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  7. Ensure that the hose does not make contact with any part of the suspension. Check the hose in extreme right and left turn conditions. If the hose makes contact, remove the hose and correct the condition.
  8. Bleed the hydraulic brake system. See MANUAL BLEEDING  or PRESSURE BLEEDING  under BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM.
  9. Lower the vehicle.
