Wheel Cylinder: Removal

- Raise and support the vehicle. Remove the tire and wheel. Remove the brake shoes. See BRAKE SHOES .
- Use Brake Parts Cleaner (GM P/N 12346139) or equivalent, in order to clean the wheel cylinder and the brake pipe. Place a container below the backing plate in order to catch the brake fluid.
- Remove the brake pipe from the back of the wheel cylinder. Put a cap on the brake pipe to stop fluid loss. Remove the cap from the bleeder valve. Remove the bleeder valve. Remove the 2 bolts and the wheel cylinder.
