Rear Park Brake Cable: Installation

  1. Install the right rear park brake cable on the equalizer.
  2. Install the 4 bolts in order to retain the 4 clamps.
  3. On vehicles with front-wheel drive, complete the following steps:
    • On vehicles with ABS, install the ABS harness to the right rear clamp.
    • Install the fuel tank shield and the 5 bolts.
    • Install the front floor center heat shield and the 2 nuts.
    • Install the front floor forward heat shield and the 3 nuts.
    • Install the catalytic converter.
  4. On all vehicles, install the park brake cable and the bolt to the right rear backing plate.
  5. Install remaining brake components. Install tires and wheels. Lower vehicle.
  6. Inspect the park brake lever travel. Adjust as necessary. See PARK BRAKE  under ADJUSTMENTS & INSPECTIONS.
