Park Brake Shoes: Installation

- Apply Lubriplate(R) Lubricant, GM P/N 1050109 (Canadian P/N 5264008), or the equivalent, to the metal contact points on the backing plate, park brake shoe lever, adjuster strut and adjuster.
- Assemble the adjuster. Install the park brake shoe lever to the park brake cable.
- Install the park brake shoe lever and the rear shoe. Install the pin and the hold-down spring to the rear shoe.
- Install the adjuster and the adjuster strut to the rear shoe.
- Install the pin and the hold-down spring to the front shoe.
- Connect the adjuster to the front shoe.
- Install the tension spring. Install the return springs.
- Install the rear rotor. See REAR BRAKE ROTOR . Install the rear caliper. See REAR BRAKE CALIPER .
- Install the rear wheels and tires. Adjust the park brake system. See DISC PARKING BRAKE ADJUSTMENT under DISC BRAKES in ADJUSTMENTS & INSPECTIONS.
