Park Brake Cable Equalizer: Removal

  1. Remove the rear floor console. See REAR FLOOR CONSOLE  .
  2. Loosen the upper park brake cable nut. Loosen the lower park brake cable nut.
  3. Raise and support the vehicle.
  4. On vehicles with front-wheel drive, complete the following steps:
    • Raise and support the vehicle.
    • Remove the catalytic converter.
    • Remove the 3 nuts and the front floor forward heat shield.
    • Remove the 2 nuts and the front floor center heat shield.
  5. On all vehicles, remove the 3 park brake cables from the equalizer.
