Front Disc Brake Hardware: Installation

- Lubricate 2 NEW slide pin boots with lithium soap base glycol grease. Use a 19 mm socket and a hammer in order to install the boots to the caliper bracket. Verify the boots are firmly seated on the caliper bracket. Lubricate the sliding pins with lithium soap base glycol grease. Install the sliding pins to the caliper bracket. See Figure .
- Install the upper brake pad retainer to the caliper bracket. Install the lower brake pad retainer to the caliper bracket.
- Install the inner wear indicator to the inner pad. Install the outer wear indicator (if equipped) to the outer pad.
- Apply disc brake grease to both sides of the inner pad insulator. Install the inner pad insulator to the inner pad. Install the inner insulator to the inner pad insulator.
- Apply disc brake grease to both sides of the outer pad insulator. Install the outer pad insulator to the outer pad. Install the outer insulator to the outer pad insulator.
- Install the brake pads. See FRONT BRAKE PADS .
- Apply and release the brake pedal (3/4 stroke) as many times as necessary in order to obtain a firm brake pedal.
- Install the tire and wheel. Lower the vehicle. Fill the master cylinder to the proper level.
