Front Brake Caliper: Installation

- Ensure that the caliper bolt boots are properly installed. Install the caliper to the caliper bracket. See Fig 1 .
- Install the brake caliper bolts. Tighten the bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Remove the plugs in the brake hose end. Remove the plugs in the brake hose end.
- Assemble the brake hose bolt and the NEW copper brake hose gaskets to the brake hose. See Figure . Install the brake hose bolt to the brake caliper. Tighten the bolt to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Remove the nuts securing the rotor to the hub.
- Install the tire and wheel. Lower the vehicle. Fill the master cylinder to the proper level. Bleed the brake system. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM . Apply approximately 175 ft. lbs. (778 N.m) of force to the brake pedal for 10 seconds. Inspect the brake caliper and hydraulic brake system for brake fluid leaks.
