Front Brake Caliper Bracket: Removal

  1. Remove the caliper from the mounting bracket and support the caliper with heavy mechanics wire or equivalent. It is not necessary to disconnect the hydraulic brake flexible hose from the caliper. Remove the brake caliper. See FRONT BRAKE CALIPER  . See Figure .
  2. Remove the brake pads from the brake caliper bracket. Remove the brake pad retainers from the brake caliper bracket. Remove the brake caliper bracket bolts. Use a wire brush in order to remove any thread locker and debris from the bolt threads. Remove the brake caliper bracket.
  3. Remove the brake caliper bolt boots from the brake caliper bracket. Inspect and replace the brake caliper bracket if cracks or deformation damage exists. Use a wire brush in order to remove any rust and debris from the brake caliper bracket where the brake pad retainers contact the brake caliper bracket. Use a wire brush in order to clean away any rust and debris from the brake pads where the brake pads contact the brake pad retainers.
