Rear Brake Caliper: Reassembly

  1. Install the bleeder valve and the bleeder valve cap to the caliper housing. Lubricate the caliper bore and the NEW set ring with Delco Supreme 11 brake fluid, GM P/N 12377967 (Canadian P/N 992667), or an equivalent DOT 3 brake fluid.
  2. Apply lithium soap base glycol grease to the NEW piston seal. Install the piston seal into the caliper bore. Verify the seal is not twisted.
  3. Apply lithium soap base glycol grease to the caliper piston. Install the piston into the caliper bore.
  4. Apply lithium soap base glycol grease to the NEW piston boot. Install the piston boot to the grooves on the piston. Install the piston boot to the grooves on the caliper housing.
  5. Install the NEW set ring to the caliper housing.
  6. Apply lithium soap base glycol grease to the slide pins and the slide pin boots. Install the slide pins and the slide pin boots to the caliper housing.

Install the caliper to the vehicle.
