Master Cylinder: Reassembly

  1. Wash the new internal parts with clean brake fluid. Place the master cylinder in a vise.
  2. Install the following components into the master cylinder:
    • The secondary piston and spring.
    • The primary piston and spring.
    • The piston guide.
    • The O-ring.
    • The cylinder cup.
    • The plate.
    • The snap ring.
    • The O-ring.
    See Figure .
  3. Push the piston into the cylinder and install the gasket and the piston stopper bolt.
  4. Wash the grommets in brake fluid. Install the 2 grommets. Remove the master cylinder from the vise. Install the master cylinder to the vehicle.
