Master Cylinder: Removal

  1. Apply the parking brake.
  2. Disconnect the master cylinder fluid level sensor connector. See Fig 1 .
  3. Disconnect the brake pipes from the master cylinder. See Fig 1 .
  4. Install a rubber cap or plug to the exposed brake hose fitting ends in order to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
  5. Remove the master cylinder mounting nuts.
  6. Remove the master cylinder assembly.
  7. Drain the master cylinder of brake fluid.
